- Installation: keep tiles level and evenly spaced as you lay them. Our levelling wedges stop lippage on floors, while tile spacers keep every joint consistent.
- Grouting: once tiles are set, grout fills the joints and seals everything in place. Use our grout quantity guide to work out exactly how much you’ll need before you start mixing.
- Finishing and protection: the final step is sealing your tiles to guard against stains and water damage. Our sealing guide explains which tiles need it and how to apply it correctly.
Grout types compared
Grout choice affects far more than colour. The right type keeps water out, copes with movement, and decides whether a wet room or splashback actually performs over time. Browse our wall tile grout range or pair grout with the right floor tile adhesive for a complete fix.
| Grout Type | Best For | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Epoxy | Wet rooms, showers, commercial kitchens | Fully waterproof and stain-resistant, but trickier to apply |
| Cement-Based | General floors and walls | Affordable and easy to use, widest colour choice |
| Flexible | Underfloor heating, timber subfloors | Handles movement and vibration without cracking |
| Epoxy with Glitter | Feature walls, splashbacks, bathrooms | Same durability as epoxy with a decorative sparkle finish |
Tile trims and edge finishing
Our Lagom trim range is L-shaped and powder-coated for a durable finish, available in 8mm and 12mm depths to match most tile thicknesses. Each length runs 2.44m and comes in Almond, Dark Grey, Black or White, so you can match or contrast with your tiles.
- Window reveals, where a neat edge replaces messy mitred cuts.
- Stair edges, for a safer, defined nosing.
- Shower niches, to finish exposed tile edges cleanly.
- Exposed corners, anywhere a raw tile edge would otherwise show.
See our guide on tiling around a window for trim placement in reveals.

Tiling accessories FAQs
Do I need to seal my tiles after installation?
It depends on the tile. Porous materials like natural stone usually need sealing to resist staining, while most glazed porcelain tiles do not. Check the specific product page before you decide.
What is the difference between epoxy grout and standard cement grout?
Epoxy grout is fully waterproof and far more stain-resistant, making it the better choice for wet rooms and commercial spaces. Cement-based grout is easier to apply, more affordable, and works well for most everyday floors and walls.
Do I need levelling wedges for floor tiles?
They are not essential, but they make a real difference on larger format tiles. Wedges hold tiles flush while the adhesive sets, reducing lippage between edges.
How do I choose the right tile trim size?
Match the trim depth to your tile thickness, typically 8mm or 12mm. Hold the trim against the tile edge before fitting to check the fit is flush.
Can I use the same tile spacers for floor and wall tiles?
Yes, the same spacers work on both, though the size you choose depends on the joint width you want. Smaller spacers suit tight wall joints, while larger sizes are common on floors.
